Introducing our Saiki City tour guide, Alexa, and Liao who paid her a visit.

Honduras, where I am from, is located in Central America, and, like Saiki, is close to the ocean. I met my husband in Honduras and four years ago came to Saiki as his wife. Currently, I teach English and Spanish in Saiki while pursuing Japanese language studies at Nippon Bunri University.
My hobbies are taking photographs and fishing, but I particularly enjoy riding my bicycle to faraway places along the banks of the Banjo River. The people in Saiki are like family to me. They treat me kindly so I have adapted easily to life in Japan. Today I had fun meeting and spending time with Liao.

I am from Hunan Province in China. I am studying International Business Management at the Graduate School of Economics of Oita University. I love hot springs, so I often go on drives to Beppu, and I also participate actively in international exchange events at the University. I am also crazy about anime and manga; almost everyday I watch movies by director Hayao Miyazaki. Since the time I was living in China I was able to learn about Japanese culture and society through anime and television dramas, and that became one reason for my coming to Japan.
Right now, my younger sister is planning to visit me in Japan, so I hope to show her many different places in Oita.
