|
 |
| The 28th Oita
International Wheelchair Marathon was held amid tough weather conditions, with
rain from the previous day having lifted but no promise of rising temperature.
At the closing ceremony, Oita’s governor remarked, "I want to express my admiration
to all of you who have put yourself to the challenge of this extreme sport called
the marathon. I am also deeply thankful for the great support from volunteers
and the citizens of Oita prefecture, without which we could not have succeeded
in holding this competition." In the women’s T52 marathon, a new world record
was set with a race time of 2 hours 7 minutes 28 seconds. |
